Latest News: Thanks for your support
February Festival success
Dear patrons,
I would like to say a big thank you for all of you who supported our biggest beer festival to date. We sold more beer than ever and the first floor room recieved a very positive reception. The pub and myself have taken a bit of a pounding over issues which we had last year on beer quality, staff and lined glasses and I would just like to say many sincere thanks to those of you who have continued to support the pub and have offered many words of encouragement. We will be having one festival before the weather gets too warm. This will start on Wed April 25th and we will have 90 or so beers on offer. I believe the pub still shines compared to many and for anyone who doubts either the pub or me then so be it, but we will continue to make the Ship and Mitre the best pub in Liverpol. I don't see any other pubs even trying to do what we do with beer in general, festival or lined glasses for that matter.
Thanks once again for the best festival to date. Without your support they would never work.

Events at The Ship and Mitre
End of Month Stillage
For those of you who have been coming in over the last few Months you will have noticed that before christmas we had extra stillage in the pub with up to 6 beers on. This was a great success and I would like to thank merseyale for highlighting this in the latest issue of the magazine (Feb07). Since christmas, when the trade naturally dips we have refrained from doing another event. However, from the end of March 07 we will be offering the extra stillage again, giving us up to 18 hand pumps for the 3 days that it runs (Thurs to Sat evening). We don't have a theme for this upcoming event so if there is anything you would like to see there is time left. It could be a theme, such as beers from a county or in a particular style or even beers from a specific brewery.
Remember though. If these events promoting real ale are to work they need to sell or we just won't be able to afford to do these which would be a real shame. If you want your idea to be held please just bear in mind a few points. Try to keep the beers not too strong or of one particular style e.g. all stouts or milds
we are looking for this to be a bit of fun so by way of an idea, how about this.
Lads Night out theme - This would involve a selection of some great cask largers such as Atlas lattitude, Harviestoun - schiehallion etc etc.
Look forwrd to your ideas coming forward
Cheers
Brian

Latest Beer Festival: April Fest 2007
Another day, another fest....Before the weather gets too warm we will be having one more beer festival. It will be over 5 days as normal (wed to Sun)and we will have beers on the bar, main stillage and first floor stillage again. We are going for 90 beers this time which is a slight reduction on the Feb Fest. (100 was a bit too much cos we just didn't have enough room).
We've got no idea what the beers will be yet, because there will be many new beers as usual and they havn't even been brewd yet! Keep an eye on the site for further info.
Cheers
Brian
