Comments: What a festival. Fantastic beer selection. No, I am not talking about the fest at the crypt, but the Ships festival at the same time. From a personal point of view,Iwould have needed 52 new beers from the crypts' selectionof over 240, compared to 80 required from 98 at the Ship. I know were I was glad to be ! Good to see so many old faces and hope to see you all again at the next one, April 25th to 29th. Cheers. "Cellar run" Faz.

Comments: I miss the Flakey! And those tiny little flies are beneficial - they add valuable proteins to the ale. Out here in the woods there are some excellent bottled microbrews - Deschutes Obsidian Stout particularly piquant at present. But nothing can replace the Ship for me. I'm crying real tears over this long absence...

Comments: We were amazed by this pub, as we love Belgian beers and were pleasantly surprised to find a good, varied list of these fantastic beers a few more dark beers please, but that's just our preference . If this was our local we would be very happy, having the opportunity to sample not only Belgian beers, but also one of 25 ever changing draught beers! It would be hard to get bored in this real ale lovers playground.

Comments: Thursday 28th September. Pub toilet infested with tiny flies, many also inside the lounge area. I saw one settle on the rim of my glass. YUK. More seriously; the bar staff leave much to be desired, two local girls who were more interested in the conversation between themselves than serving me, made me feel I was interrupting them. Horrified when one of them, in a turquoise tracksuit or similar, went collecting empty glasses with a cigarette in her mouth. add to this the fact that I had to return my pint flat, stale and you will appreciate my displeasure at this visit. Keith Porter. CAMRA160585

Reply from Brian: Firstly, we take our customer service very seriously at The Ship and Mitre, but you do need to let us know. If ever you have a problem with your pint, let the bar staff know, and they will deal with the problem straight away. If you have a problem with a member of staff please let myself, or the duty manager know. Brian.

Comments: The beers at the Ship continue to be excellent, but please could you get a proper P.A system so that those taking part in the quiz can hear the questions/ answers. The pub can be very noisy at times. Thanks, Dave.

Beer Monster - Liverpool
Comments: How disappointing that following another year of continual support for The Ship and Mitre we regulars couldn't enjoy a festive drink on Xmas Eve, Boxing Day or even the 27th. Whilst I accept you and your staff should enjoy Xmas Day you have chosen to make a living within the leisure industry and this unfortunately means working during holiday periods. It is a shame that since Saturday we have had to make alternative arrangements for a drink. On the point of closing today 27th - I say this because I rang earlier and was told you were closed all day. I have however just had a phone call from a colleague telling me he is in there - what's going on? It may be wise to publish your New Year opening hours on line.

Comments: Great pub; Shame about the website. Sounds like a song! I spotted an ad in MerseyAle and thought I would have a look at the website, hoping to find details of any upcoming beer festivals. I must say that I'm really disappointed to find details of LAST November's beers but nothing more recent. Come on, guys. Even if you set aside a few hours to update the site once a month it would be so much more helpful.

Sam & Lottie Ireland - Ireland
Comments: We were over from Ireland a few weeks ago, but were only able to spend a half day in Liverpool. Obviously we called into our favourite pub there, the Ship and Mitre. Had a nice lunch accompanied by a few nice ales. I was impressed with the renovations since we were last there. The back room is much brighter and spacious. Unfortunately we did not see Paul or Brian this visit, but the guy Australian? and the girl who were serving, were most helpful and friendly. Hopefully our next visit will be for a longer stay!!

Comments: Hello and welcome to the new updated Ship and Mitre guestbook. As you know the guestbook has been off line for a while until a solution to the spam problem was found. We hope this is now working, but does mean you have a couple of extra processes to go through. Please add your comments.
